Some changes that The Sims Mobile needs

Hello Simmers!

Today I will talk a little about some changes that The Sims Mobile needs, I will try to be more fair and not speak so much personal opinion. I hope you like it, and if you agree and / or want to support these ideas, a re-tweet and favorite in the tweet that I will post informing this post :).

BEGINNING OF EVERYTHING

The Sims Mobile is a free game that contains internal purchases, this is understandable, because a free game without microtransactions cannot be kept alive or updated. Originally developed by the developers of The Sims 4 at Maxis, currently The Sims Mobile is developed by a team from Firemonkeys, a studio belonging to EA (Just like Maxis).

Firemonkeys has, indeed, done an excellent job, since Maxis only offered updates with events. Nowadays Firemonkeys does that too, we always have new events, but sometimes we have some really cool news, like for example: several houses, Eco Workshop and some things, but that is not enough.

WHY ISN'T IT ENOUGH?

Developing games is not a simple task, we all know. Initially, it was understandable the small number of updates with news (we will not take into account the events), Firemonkeys is not the original developer of The Sims Mobile, that is, they did not build the game, until then, they could have difficulties with the game development. But it's been a few years since The Sims Mobile moved to Australia, and that's no longer an excuse.

The game itself receives many "updates", however, many times they only bring more events, that's all. All items from this event are from The Sims 4 and The Sims FreePlay, meaning they have one less job: creating all of these items. Which makes the team's work seem a little lazy. We constantly asked the developers for some resources on Twitter, and they are almost always responding to us (and this is super cool), but in practice they don't seem to listen to us very well. We asked for balconies and received a "Sim Festival" that nobody asked for ... On the other hand, we received catalogs from home, which in fact is something super cool, or in fact it would be, if it weren't so expensive. The number of updates themselves is not a problem, but the content they bring is not enough.

CURRENT PROBLEMS OF THE FRANCHISE

EA has a reputation for charging for everything, often in exchange for bad content and often without content itself (that was confusing, sorry). This happens with The Sims 4 with its infinite paid packages, which are often not even requested by the community and are sometimes simply dull and without gameplay (they are useless at times). This is no different in The Sims Mobile, we have several things paid for, often very unutile or too expensive. In March 2021, according to the Sense Tower website, The Sims Mobile yielded about 400K to EA against the 2M that SimCity yielded to EA, and I can explain why!

PREMIUM PASS AND EXAGGERATED SHOPPING

The Sims Mobile contains several paid packages (as I said, as it is a free game, it is understandable), and of course, you are not obliged to buy them (just as you are not obliged to buy the 9249282 packages from The Sims 4), but that doesn’t take away your right to complain, doesn’t it?

The Sims Mobile packages are extremely expensive, and of course, a few useless. There is no balance between these paid packages and free content, which is a shame.

The real problem has recently arrived: "Sim Festival" and its damn premium pass and its lack of relevant prizes.

SimCity, a simply incredible game, which has received many updates since its launch in 2014. It also contains a premium pass, for a really affordable price, as well as all the packages present in the game, they are cheap and fair, they are really relevant, and that could be one of the reasons for such a profit for EA, 2 Million Dollars! With the free SimCity pass, you can win over 1,400 SimCash! In the FREE pass.

This is a concept, in which the team could give us through the free pass the then removed NPC, Emily.
This is a concept, in which the team could give us through the free pass the then removed NPC, Emily.

The "Sim Festival" brought with it a premium pass similar to that of SimCity, but with one however: twice the price and half the prizes compared to the SimCity pass :). Yes, twice the price, for less! If you do not sell things at a fair price, which lives up to what is being sold, you will not sell. SimCity is proof of that, they sell at a fair and affordable price, for something that is really worth it. Another example: for less than 2 dollars, on SimCity, you have 10 SimCash daily for 30 days! Yea! In The Sims Mobile, you rarely get SimCash and the prices are absurd.

PROBLEMATIC DAILY AND SEASON TASKS

A really cool thing has been added (again) to The Sims Mobile: daily tasks! When I saw that they would be added, I was super excited, they are in fact super necessary, because there is nothing to do in the game (The Sims Mobile is a dead game, without the essencebasic essence of The Sims: life!).

Daily tasks themselves are not the problem (ignore the fact that you need to PAY to have more daily tasks ...). Seasonal chores are the problem here!

Buy a new batch in 50 days (it is unlikely that you will get 40,000 Simoleons in that time), buy 5 useless decorative items (spend more Simoleons to earn half of what was spent). Win 400 Eco Worshop tokens (even if you have already completed the Worshop levels and of course IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO EARN NEW TOKENS (This is apparently a mistake, a mistake by the team, the lack of attention by the team)). Seasonal chores should be redone fairly.

OTHER GAME PROBLEMS

Lack of gameplay, lack of The Sims. Unfortunately, The Sims Mobile lacks the basic characteristics of the franchise (which is more than 20 years old). The Sims Mobile is nothing more than EA's Home Desing and Covet Fashion, which carries the undeserved title of The Sims. Ah, besides that, we’ve been waiting for Sims animations going up and down the stairs for a year :). After all, there is a chance that you will wake up in the morning and your game will be gone. It will take you up to months to get help from EA.

WHAT ARE THE SOLUTIONS?

Bring The Sims features, real content, relevant updates, fair prices and more interaction with the community. Please Firemonkeys, listen to our feedback and give us what we want.

See you!
